i had a play date with a fabulous friend after work today...and, i have keyhole envy....big time...
michele bought a great frame at the thrift store and had several keyholes...she wanted to frame three of them...here is what we came up with...
i have been looking for some old dictionaries to tear the pages out of for my projects and haven't quite found what i was looking for...when we were putting this together, we went through her paper and mine and nothing was just 'perfect'...i mentioned that i thought that a page from an old dictionary would be perfect but i hadn't found one that i wanted to use yet...
i do have a dictionary (as well as bible) collection...lots of lovely old ones that i would never consider tearing pages out of...however, desperate times call for desperate measures...i went a looking...and, there in the living room...lo and behold was a dictionary i had laid open on the shelf with a pair of vintage glasses resting on top...upon inspection, i remembered why i had displayed it open...the book binding was replaced with duct tape and it was a steal at a garage sale years ago....it looked lovely open but definitely not closed on a bookshelf...
well, the quote 'you always had the power' from the wizard of oz came to mind and we had a good laugh at that!
i taught michele how to ink up the torn out page and viola...the finished product! so beautiful...just wish it didn't have to go home with her! i adore it! perfection...and, i will admire it in her lovely home...a very deserving home!
hope your day was spent as mine was, enjoying the company of one of your favorite human beings!
