keyhole envy

i had a play date with a fabulous friend after work today...and, i have keyhole envy....big time...

michele bought a great frame at the thrift store and had several keyholes...she wanted to frame three of them...here is what we came up with...

Keyholes
i have been looking for some old dictionaries to tear the pages out of for my projects and haven't quite found what i was looking for...when we were putting this together, we went through her paper and mine and nothing was just 'perfect'...i mentioned that i thought that a page from an old dictionary would be perfect but i hadn't found one that i wanted to use yet...

i do have a dictionary (as well as bible) collection...lots of lovely old ones that i would never consider tearing pages out of...however, desperate times call for desperate measures...i went a looking...and, there in the living room...lo and behold was a dictionary i had laid open on the shelf with a pair of vintage glasses resting on top...upon inspection, i remembered why i had displayed it open...the book binding was replaced with duct tape and it was a steal at a garage sale years ago....it looked lovely open but definitely not closed on a bookshelf...

well, the quote 'you always had the power' from the wizard of oz came to mind and we had a good laugh at that!

i taught michele how to ink up the torn out page and viola...the finished product! so beautiful...just wish it didn't have to go home with her! i adore it! perfection...and, i will admire it in her lovely home...a very deserving home!

hope your day was spent as mine was, enjoying the company of one of your favorite human beings!

sabrina

tomorrow a friend from SGT has a birthday...she loves, loves, loves pink & black...so during a recent trip to Michael's i grabbed a coupla things to make her a card from the making memories line 'sabrina'...the whole collection is adorable (i think lizette bought it all!!!)...

Lizette09
the cs and sentiment is SU!, as is the baroque background which i stamped with the essential glue pad...then sprinkled lots of the MS glitter on...i did the edges too, just dipping those into the ink pad then sprinkled to my heart's content...the ribbon and flowers are from the collection as is the paper that i stamped 'birthday wishes' on...pins, pearls, and rhinestones are from my stash...

i hope this super sweet girl has a fabulous birthday!

grow

good evening...morning, or afternoon...depending on when you are reading this...

it is evening for me...seems that lately that is when i am done with the project at hand and ready to take pictures...not the best lighting...which someday i will rectify...but at least if i take the picture right when i am done, there is a higher chance that i will actually a) take the picture and b) have the time to post the pictures...

all that nonsense being said...i played with the new 'bloom & grow' line from my minds eye...i scrapped these pictures of nic and made a couple-a-cards...take a look-see...

Nicgrow
paper as stated is my mind's eye 'grow' from the bloom & grow lines...the flowers, etc are from the matching die cut sheet...orange flowers are bazzill...misc trims/ribbons & rhinestones from stash...the leaf pin is maya road...other pin is self explanatory...inked up all the edges of the paper with creamy brown chalk box...

Growcard1
SU! ribbon & cardstock...PTI sentiment...

Growcard2
ditto

thanks for stopping in...it is appreciated more than i can say...

played with some more splendid...easy subject...my cutie pie niece...

Joyride1 Joyride2

see...cutie pie!!

used fancy pants 'splendid', chalked up all the edges, used a white gel pen to 'stitch' the edges...very roughly...the flowers are a sizzix die...the round 'flower' is the martha stewart button punch...the tickets are from the office supply store...the words were all cut using the quickuts silhouette...the ribbon and rhinestones are from my stash...

hope your weekend was full of fun, fun, fun!

amazing woman

my sister...she never seizes to amaze me! she pretty much can do anything she sets her mind to! you name it, she will research it, research it some more...if necessary, take it apart so she can figure out how to make one and then, design a whole new one of whatever it was...cause the new pattern will be just that much more fabulous cause now she not only knows how that one was made, but has come up with a zillion ways to improve it!

i adore her and you will too...go say 'hi'!!!!!!!

missybug's craft-tastic-ness

my photographers

nic is really loving her second photography class...she has always loved taking pictures, even when she was a wee one and she had the playskool plastic one...that grew into her own barbie camera, and later we would buy her disposable cameras and let her go wild...some of the things she took pictures of were hysterical...others, blew us away...she had 'an eye' for it...

steve has alwasy loved to take landscape pictures...i remember soon after meeting him, he showed me pictures he took during his summer in greece....wow...they are gorgeous!

when we were in mammoth a few years ago, it was such a sweet thing to watch as daddy gave a little impromtu lense lesson...as i sat there enjoying the sights and the father/daughter bonding, i realized i also had my camera...here is the result...

Ispylayout2 Ispylayout1

i, on the other hand...am not the photographer! i do hope to take some classes sometime...i promise!

i used the basic gray line 'granola' for the layout...letters, leaves, and branches were done with the silhouette ...the flowers were cut out from one of the papers in the collection...twill is MS...inked up the edges of most things with walnut distress ink and the blender tool...the notebook edge & rounded corners are done with SU! punches...

hope your day was great and friday is even better!

p.s. remember that you can click on images to make them bigger so you can see all the details...

happy heart

yeah...nope...didn't finish the layout yesterday as promised...oh well...always another day...

and, today...romance, love, sweetness, flowers, hearts, and sharing...

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!

i hope your day is filled with all those things i mentioned! mine? has been spent first working, then playing, hanging with the hubster, church, then a meal fit for a king (well, my prince anyway)...casual, home cooked deliciousness...that's what he likes...well, that and me! hehe

i played with my making memories love notes collection...

Lovenotesheart

umm...yeah, played with a little overlay too...why not? this is a huge area that i have a big desire to learn about...digital scrap booking, photo editing, photography...someday i will take some classes and learn till my heart's content...until then...you get what i am capable  of and what i play around with...

the big heart came from home goods a while ago...as soon as i saw it, i knew i had to do something papercrafty with it...i used a paper doily, crepe paper, misc buttons and ribbon (white only) from my stash...everything else is from love notes...

have a fabulous day!

fancy i love you

fancy pants  is having a little contest on their blog...so used the splendid line to make chicka a valentine's card...

Fancyiloveyou
a few things to share here...i used some of the die cuts from the line (the large heart being one of them); the small hearts are quickutz; the words are cut with the silhouette, here i used what was left when i removed the letters i will use on a layout with this line; i used crepe paper for the flower-ette (the center is a MS punch) and ruffle under the paper that i pinked the edges of (as in took the pinking shears to)...i did ink up most edges, etc with chalk inks...lastly, the bottom layer is bazzill, the second layer is bazzill bling, as is the blue i and you...

i hope to get the layout of my niece done tomorrow to show you!

i made this card for a sketch challenge on the blog...

Ptilove
did lots of shabbifying...hehe...the cs is all PTI...i used embossing folders for the first two layers...then inked the edges first with the 'pad to paper' technique using the same color ink as the cs...then i used antique linen distress ink on all the edges...including the stamped image...which again, are pti...garden of life and ambassador alphabet...of course there are buttons on it...lately, everything has buttons on it! then a crochet flower and vintagey pom-pom trim...

hope you enjoyed...two posts in one day...wow...a two-fer!!
