First Copic Marker Class at SGT

it's a good day

lovely sunshine, puppy breath, fresh strawberries and yogurt for breakfast, and a delicious iced coffee to sip on...wonderful day...

last night was the first copic marker class at SGT...and, it was so much fun! i can't help it...these markers totally thrill me! really!  i think i was more excited than some of the students!

my goal for the class...to fall in love with the markers...some did...others it will be a slower process, but i think they are at least in like!

they take practice, so don't give up on them...it is all about learning and trying...not getting frustrated...or at least not too frustrated!

i know...i make it look easy...know why? cause i am not afraid, it is not stressful and i am not worried about doing it perfectly...so, relax ladies!!

CopicWSI02
remember that we do shade the butterfly since i did not trim around that middle section, the flowers are not shaded...

CopicWSI01
same here...that sentiment square is trimmed from your sheet of images...2 1/2 by 2 1/2...the middle is all shaded...around the friends and flowers...

i hope i helped answer your questions and please, if you have any questions at all, email me! and, put those cards together!!!

i had a blast, and can't wait for the next one! (the second class is in a week and a half for this same class that sold out) and,  here is a sneak peek of the next class in july that i showed the ladies last night!

Springcards
we played with glimmer mist, did a little sewing (only a little complaining...just wait till they see what they have to sew for the summer cards...hehe), some folding, and lotsa gluing...

it amazes me that i get paid for doing this...i still think of it as playing...i enjoy it so much!

let me introduce you to sydney

...the new red headed love of our lives...

Sydneylicious
our hearts are full and our home is full of giggles...she is so stinkin' sweet...lots of training and sleepless nights ahead, but all so worth it...

we went back and forth from the shelter...bringing the little man to meet her and playing with her to make sure she would be a good fit for our family...

Sydneyadoptionday

i hope your week is as playful as ours is going to be!!!

on being a mother

the joy of my life...even when i am getting a crazy attitude from a hormonal uncontrollable teenager...because i know that 'this too shall pass'...i love being a mom...to care for and nurture...that's my nature...so i celebrate today, wishing every other mother a wonderful day...i hope your day brings you as much joy as possible...take in the wonder around you and rejoice in the gifts God has entrusted you with, for however long he deems...

Mothersday09
'i told you so'...more websters pages 'hello beautiful'...flowers are vintage sheet music cut out with a cuttlebug die, pearl centers are MS pearls tinted with copic E33, sentiment  (SU!) on the front card is cut out with spellbinders 'blossom' die...MS seam binding and vintage buttons tied on with ivory crochet thread...all paper is inked up with vintage photo distress ink...

until tomorrow,
chelle

big hair

mother's day is just a few days away...and, in celebration...a layout...of my mom...cause she's cool like that...

Momadoreus
you stop that right now!!! no laughing...unless of course you are laughing at my brothers ubber cool jumpsuit...then, by all means LAUGH!!! :)  and, in my mother's defense...she was a hairstylist, it was the style, and she is gorgeous anyway...

as for me...i was stinkin' adorable!!! no, i don't know what happened...

i played with more of the  'hello beautiful' paper from webster's pages (again, inked up with frayed burlap distress ink)...i really, really love it...be prepared to see it again...soon...

the rest of the deets...
more of the vintage lace, buttons, and a buckle from yesterday's post...the butterflies are cut from vintage music sheets (thank you grandma), the ribbon is MS, jenni bowlin mini paper & mini bingo card, prima pearls (which i inked with sand E33 copic marker to make 'em look older than they are), MS punch for that border on the left of the pic, the flower trim from my stash...that about sums it up...hope you like it like i like it...

yay for the weekend!!!

voila

i have had my eye on this planter at michaels for a while now...i have, on more than one occasion, sifted through the potted plants in search of the perfect ones (yes, i am one of those people)...and, yet, every time i put it all back (yes, i am also one of those people)...until today...

today was THE day...i left with it all...and came home and made it mine...

the before (which is also the back of the after in case i get tired of the front...not likely though)...

and, the after...

the close ups...

now...the reason it never came home with me before? i don't know where i want to put it...i am not sure of the perfect spot yet...

and, the reason it came home today anyway....50% off...the planter AND the plants...who could resist that? yes, i know, you can...but alas, i could not...

so, how did i 'make it my own' you ask? i used some fabulous paper from the new webster's pages line 'hello beautiful', all of which was inked up with frayed burlap distress ink...and just a few of my vintage finds from a fabulous antique store that was having a wonderful 50% off sale today (imagine that)...score! the buttons, buckle, snaps, lace, etc are all vintage...the resin medallion is new, inked up with a copic marker...my favorite thing to make new things look old...

Buttonslacesnaps

one last thing to share...my favorite half price item of the day...because for some reason it reminds me of my grandfather...

Whistle

i just love it...who doesn't need a whistle with an old key attached???

hope the ending of your week is grand!

why we do what we do

to preserve, to save, to collect, to celebrate...we do this out of love...we want our loved ones to have something to hold, something to touch and read, something wonderful and beautiful to cherish and save, for always...

we are scrapbookers...we take pictures, memories, and our love and put them on pages of a book for those we love, to have and keep...

like these, that i put paper, and pictures, and ribbon, and glue on a page...with lots and lots of love...

Easterhunt96
these pictures are of my chicka when she was 3...my cutie pie...

Easter96
paper line is 'honey pie' from cosmo cricket, i used die cuts from the same line, dies from silhouette and quickutz...all paper was inked up with antique linen distress ink...

happy national scrapbook day!!! and, thank you for doing what you do, and why you do it!
