summer of creative chemistry week 1

making time to be creative this summer with the motivation and inspiration of Tim Holtz' Creative Chemistry!

OCC

this week we were challenged to play with our distress and create something using 4 colors of distress ink...here is the result of my play time...

FullSizeRender

i used worn lipstick, dried marigold, wild honey, and iced spruce. part of what i want to do during class is think outside the box and go a little out of my comfort zone...so i chose colors i love and a few i rarely use...i like the result and loved playing.

Create

the techniques we played with are spritz and flick (i did this on the background piece as well as the watercolor piece...i literally smeared the pad into my hand, spritzed it with water and flicked...no need to get up to get the stains out ha!), brushless water color, and wrinkle-free distress. i combined them all on this project since this class is a review for me, i want to put the techniques into action and create simple projects that highlight the technique.

i strongly encourage you to check out the summer of creative chemistry, i am certainly grateful for the class and the time put into it...it is just what i need to get creative!

thank you for checking in,

chelle

Gorgeous Chelle. Love your four-color palette. Your brushless watercolor is so wonderful. The different colored splatters are just way to the finish off this beautiful tag. I am also very excited about the Summer of Creative Chemistry. I'm looking forward to seeing how it inspires you this summer. Hope you are doing well. You have been in my prayers. -- Mary Elizabeth
