More Creativation 2018 Stampers Anonymous Release Samples

hello lovely folks!  today i am sharing a few more cards i made for Tim Holtz' Stamper's Anonymous Creativation 2018.

i think you are all aware of my love for the blueprint stamps...they are super fun and easy to color and so very versatile!

IMG_0063

first up, is this 'best' card...i cut the frame out of distress water color cardstock, stamped grapes from CMS336 Mini Blueprints 10 in Jet Black Archival Ink.  the wine glass is stamped the same way using CMS333 Wine Blueprint stamp. the images are colored with distress ink markers...of course!  the edges were lightly inked using vintage photo distress ink and an ink blender. the ribbon is cut from the gold in the metallic paper stash and rubbed with steel wool. adding a pressed tag was the finishing touch.

IMG_0057

up next is this card using  CMS334 Beer Blueprints and CMS336 Mini Blueprints 10.  these images are colored the same way...edges also inked with vintage photo and an ink blending tool.  The frame is cut from silver metallic stash kraft cardstock, rubbed with steel wool, and inked with mushroom alcohol ink...just love that aged look.  the base as well as the oval under the focal image is Distress Woodgrain Cardstock.  i first rubbed it with gathered twigs Distress Oxide Ink, sprayed it with water and dried it with a heat tool. a final touch of rubbing the top with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink Pad made the woodgrain pop.

IMG_0058

this cheerful (and much more colorful than i ever venture) card is layered on a watercolored background done with Twisted Citron and the wrinkle free technique...the edges were brightened up with more Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn Distress ink and an ink blending tool. The beverages were inked with distress markers (of course...) and the same inking added...the cheers was cut with Tim Holtz Alphanumeric 1" Tall dies.

i hope you enjoyed these refreshing cards (LOL)...see you soon with more fun!

Creativations 2018 - Tim Holtz Blog Hop and Give Away

welcome folks!  i am so glad you are here!

i am so happy to be part of the Creativations 2018 - Tim Holtz Blog Hop and Give Away...there are so many amazingly talented folks in this group of artists!  from here, you will head on over to the incredible Zoe Hillman's blog...have fun and show her some love! read to the bottom for the give away details!!!

IMG_0041

one of my favorite stamps from the new release is Glorious Bouquet CMS325...it is so detailed and versatile.  it's great how you can choose what areas of the stamp are perfect for your project.

IMG_0043

i started out by stamping the part of the flowers i wanted to use vertically on a piece of patterned paper from the Paper Stash Memoranda.  i used the Stamping Platform to stamp the image twice with Archival black ink.

IMG_0044

for coloring, i chose to do a base of Distress Oxide Ink using a detail water brush. i dried the ink with a heat tool in between colors...

IMG_0046

this is what the base looks like...pretty, but then i added the depth.  the distress oxide ink makes for a great base for coloring with markers...

IMG_0065

on the left, is one layer of coloring with a detail water brush and Worn Lipstick Distress Marker...on the right, is a second layer of coloring...

IMG_0052

and, the final pop with a lil marker to paper coloring!  you can see how the pink flower now pops...

IMG_0066

here is another look at the steps on the leaves using Peeled Paint Distress Markers...i love the depth of the leaves on the left of the bottom picture.

IMG_0041

here is a look at the final colored image. to finish the card, i sewed the image layer to card stock and layered on the card base.  a simple black cotton thread bow finished off the simple card.

thank you for stopping by on the blog hop, enjoy the rest of the hop!!!

Creativation 2018 Stampers Anonymous Release Samples

hi Folks!  today i wanted to share a few samples i made for Tim Holtz and the Stamper's Anonymous Booth at Creativation.  these are using sets shipping now...

IMG_0060

the stamp set Pennants CMS330 is one of my favorites...i have a mad love for pennants. i cut the 'class of' out of felt and love the look. the lined background and merchants set complete this card perfectly!

IMG_0061

the set Entomology CMS328 did not exactly scream my name...however, i loved coloring these lil critters! this fun colored layer is on a layer of distress wood card stock...one of my favorite things!

i hope you enjoyed these cards...check our Tim's Blog to see all the stamps and come back tomorrow for a blog hop!!

Christmas Cheer Card

hello folks!  i have another card i made for the Tim Holtz Holiday 2017 Inspiration Series.  check out Tim's instagram daily to see some incredible projects that are sure to inspire! also, he recaps all the deliciousness on his blog weekly, so hop on over there while you are at it!

IMG_0020

i love this santa from the Christmas Classic set...he is so great to color and i love the holly detail.  i really love to add dimension with coloring even when it is a single layer.  i stamped all of the details in black archival ink then colored the images with distress markers. inking the edges last with broken china and iced spruce.

IMG_0021

here is a closer look at the coloring...it's simple but gives plenty of depth and pop.

IMG_0022

one of my favorite ways to add a vintage touch to my projects is to add silver or gold metallic kraft that i have rubbed over with steel wool...sometimes a lot, sometimes (like here) a little.  sandpaper is also a great way to give texture to the paper.  i love the way it looks as is or even inked with something like gathered twigs or walnut stain distress ink. here i made a rosette after i took the shine off.

to add a little more silver detail, i used a silver sharpie in my distress marker spritzer...you can see it there on the greenery. i finished off the cheer banner with the sharpie as well.

IMG_0020

to finish off the card, i layered the image on more 'distressed' silver metallic paper then black...this is a card i can see duplicating for Christmas cards.

thank you for stopping it!

Creativation 2017 Samples

howdy folks...have you been to Tim Holtz's blog to see his Creativation 2017 recap?? his tour is super fun and inspiring! this release is absolutely incredible...i can not wait to play with so many things he released!!

i was so honored to get to play with the Stamper's Anonymous release...it is such a blessing and i am so grateful...

i thought i would share a few samples i made...

IMG_1655

i love this stamp so much...i knew i had to pair the saying with these mini blueprint coffee stamps...this is a saying  i have used at work for years and i am lucky enough to love what i do...

the woodgrain cardstock was perfect to create this frame to make the saying pop stamped in picket fence distress ink on black cardstock...

IMG_1653

one of my favorite things to do is create a simple card with the focus on a single layer where i use distress ink to add dimension and detail...this card highlights that technique...

IMG_1663

i love these farm animals...so many possibilities...i immediately knew i wanted to stack 'em up.  another new favorite for me is the eclectic elements craft thread...it's the perfect weight thread for crafting.

i'll be back soon with more samples...i'm excited to share the hipsters samples and how i created the backgrounds...

thank you for stoping in!!

Tim Holtz 12 tags of 2016 - March

today was therapeutic. i am going through a rough time health wise.  want to know a secret about that?  i am actually not concerned about myself as much as one would think.  in the face of some really scary stuff, it is those i love...true friends and family...that are weighing on my mind.  it makes me sad to hurt them.  i don't want to make the phone calls or tell the results of tests to them.  i want to protect them….keep them safe and happy.  that is my job, the nurturer.

so today, on the eve of one of two surgeries, i took a deep breath and pulled out my crafty supplies (thank you friendz!!!) and bit by bit created this month's remix tag.  i took my time, literally all day, because i wanted to focus on the positive and create something sweet and special.

IMG_0110

i love butterflies.  their transformation has always been a draw for me.  "just when the caterpillar thought the world was over, it became a butterfly…"

IMG_0119
month's tag was a celebration of wonder and the fabulous distress crayons for me…i love how the crayons blend over the gesso painted on the tag.  please pop on over to Tim's blog to see the full tutorial on this tag…it's fabulous!

IMG_0115

the lil cuties are punched with Tim's sizzix punches.  i painted a tag with gesso, stamped it with potting soil archival ink and the flourish background stamp then rubbed and smeared the distress crayons over the surface. finally, i sprayed the tag with tarnished brass mica spray.  then punched away…so so cute!

IMG_0116

another thing i love about distress crayons, is the way they work with metal…it smears right into those etched words and they stand out perfectly! i used picket fence on the quote band.

IMG_0113

i girlied mine up with some trimmings dyed with peacock feathers stain…of course!!

thank you for stoping in, and if you aren't playing along with the 12 tags…no time like the present to start!! i'm loving the inspiration of the remix of past techniques and innovative new techniques and products of today…go get inspired and make some time to create!!

oh, and those health things i mentioned…not ready to share details, just know, it is all going to be okay! thank you for little prayers and positive thoughts!!

Today is full of possibilities...

happy easter! thinking about what today means to me…renewal and possibilities come to mind.  so, when i made time to play today i was guided by those thoughts...

IMG_0109

i played with the distress crayons and a technique that wendy vecchi showed me, here is a tutorial on her blog…i inked a tag with archival inks in watering can and sky blue to start...

IMG_0107

i used the tim holtz doily #2 die and his tissue wrap to create my doily…so cute!! i adhered it with the matte collage medium and the distress collage brush in a hashtag motion to create texture. then added vintage photo, black soot, and hickory smoke crayons and smudged away with my finger…then lightly (super lightly, or you will wipe it all away!) with a baby wipe i removed more crayon just from the raised portions of the doily.

i stamped the flowers from tim's wildflower set in archival jet black ink.  the sentiment is from small talk.  once i adhered the saying with more matte collage medium  (under and over the stickers) i used black soot and picket fence crayon over the edges...

IMG_0109

i added a gum drop to the new charmed..inking the gumdrop with mushroom then gold alcohol inks.  the charmed is painted first with iced spruce paint then the gold alcohol ink and finally mushroom…because i can't leave well enough alone…

the tag was layered over a silver kraft core base that i roughed up with steel wool and added smudged black soot crayon to. then a cute lil bow of pearl cotton and wrapped it around the whole thing and put onto a black card base.

IMG_0109

i hope your day was filled with love and renewed hope…there are so many possibilities ahead!

Tim Holtz 12 tags of 2016 - February

life…it has been interrupted.  at first, i thought i had a good excuse to skip this month's tag…however, if not now, then when?  in the face of difficult life situations, i tend to hide.  i stop doing the things that bring me joy…which magnifies the situation unduly.  so…let me say, i need to stop that…today.  so i did.  i had to create time that didn't exist.

here is the result of fighting through the struggle of inaction…i am kinda proud of myself, just sayin...

IMG_0090

i loved this tag so much! i had the idea to do a little cross stitched scrap as soon as i saw the original tag on Tim's blog…i love that it actually came together as i envisioned!

IMG_0094

i don't think i did the stencil mono really well, i almost scrapped it…then i decided to just go with imperfection…something i picked up from Tim but it's really hard to do sometimes!

IMG_0095
one last close up pic of the sweet couple and the cool embossed paste technique…i really like how tinting the photobooth pic and folding it here and there brings it to life...

thank you for visiting…and sure am happy you stopped by!

Tim Holtz 12 tags of 2016 - January

so…confession.  i have always wanted to play along with the tim holtz twelve tags! i am always inspired by them and always intend to accept the challenge to make my version of them.  well, this year, the 'remix' concept is AWESOME…it gives me a chance to take action and have the opportunity to try some of the techniques from the past…how exciting!

so here we go…just under the wire…here is my January tag...

IMG_0079

i LOVE how the industrious metal technique came out!

IMG_0087

i did ink my embossed foil after i wiped the black distress paint off with mushroom alcohol ink…it added a great vintage look

IMG_0074_2

i didn't have everything to do the chalkboard technique (a downfall of having your studio 1200 miles away)…so i had to improvise.  i used the new distress picket fence ink to stamp my verse and smudged it a bit before it dried.  then i used chalk to add chalk smudges to create an authentic look...

IMG_0080_2

i am so glad i made the time to play along…can't wait for next month...

thank you for stopping by,

chelle

love makes the world go 'round

hello again…today i have a sweet project i did on a large (#12) black ranger inc tag...

IMG_0067

i used the large tag as my base then layered patterned paper after inking the edges with hickory smoke distress ink

IMG_0061

i cut 'LOVE' out of a scrap of black kraft-core using tim holtz alphanumeric tall thinlits and trimmed it into a banner.  then cut out 'round' using alphanumeric…obviously using the negative and positive cuts respectfully...all pieces were lightly sanded for some texture along with the words i trimmed from small talk stickers...

IMG_0052

i cut a heart out of silver deco sheet with tim's heartfelt die and cut a small strip, tearing the edges to make it look like a piece of torn washi tape.  both pieces were swiped with mushroom alcohol ink to age them…i love how the shimmer comes through no matter how much ink you apply

IMG_0053

next up, an adornments arrow and a heart charm inked first with gold mixative alcohol ink then mushroom.  i tied vintage thread around the middle of the arrow and through the hole in the heart

IMG_0057

time to put it all together…i dyed some crinkle ribbon with tattered rose stain; once dried, I tied it to the top of the tag and added the heart charm with the vintage thread.  i used multi medium to adhere all the paper and the arrow. once all the layers were on, i added a few bits of gilded accents (this stuff is so cool, )…i love how it all came together

thank you for visiting!

chelle

p.s. yes, i did blog twice this week…and, no, you should not have high expectations…we are taking this one day at a time, right!?
