i also had some card kits for the ladies to buy if they needed a little something to work tomorrow!!!

as is my list of favorite copics...

IF i was stranded on a desert island...and could ONLY have 60 markers...these are them...pretty much a well rounded assortment that covers both bright and muted for most of my basic coloring...a starting point...cause we all know, i want them all...just cause i love them so...

i am breaking them into groups for blending purposes...they start on the left of the color chart and move down & right...

V01, V12, V15 (lilac)

V91, V95 (muted lilac)

RV10, RV11, RV34 (muted pink)

R81, R83, R85 (basic pink)

R20, R22, R24, R37 (peach into muted red)

R29, R59 (red, red)

YR14, YR 15  (orange) yes, the 15 is the lighter shade!

Y13, Y15  (yellow)

Y11, Y21, YR23 (muted yellow) yep, i know i don't follow my own blending family rules...and, sometimes, i color outside the lines!!!

YG41, YG45 (vintage green)

YG63, YG67 (basic green)

YG93, YG99 (olive green)

G40, G12, G14 (grassy green)

G24, G28 (another basic, darker combo)

BG11, BG13 (turquoise)

BG15, BG09 (teal)

BG72, BG75 (muted blue green)

B21, B23 (blue)

B95, B97 (muted blue)

E00, E11 (for flesh...caucasian)

E13, E15 (for terra in flower pots)

E35 (what i use to 'vintage-fy' pearls, resin, rhinestones, buttons, etc.)

E41, E43 (ivory)

E55, E57, E59 (basic brown)

C1, C3 (cool gray)

T3, T6, T9  (muted gray) how i make black things look black with depth

W1 (my 'go-to' shader) that you see the 60 markers...a disclaimer...they are MY favorites, this does not mean they will be anyone else's!!! i love green...and there are lots of those...and, you will notice not a lot of light shades...that's cause this is the 'top 60'...i use a lot of the lighter shades (especially to airbrush) but we are talking about my 'i can't live without' colors...

i ONLY have 180 collection grows by a marker here and there and i discover new favorites (E41 being a recent passion) and so will you!!!

i hope this helps those that asked for it!!!

happy coloring peeps!

signs of love

first you see a look of hopefulness, then a look of total confusion...a wrinkled brow...then comes the scratching of the head, the 'huh?' moments...then, you see a twinkle creep back...then a raised eyebrow...and, finally, finally, a 'wow' and that first glimmer of falling in love...

with a marker

it happens every time!!! those beginners come in and are all excited and then i confuse the heck out of them, then the 'ah ha' moment and they see what all the fuss is about!!!

as with every beginner class, this is the card that they will ultimately make with images that they are finally happy with coming out the way they like...the class is more information and learning about the markers, the coloring will always does...tonight we play some more...copic cafe at the favorite!!

paper is basic grey...but more importantly...the copics: W1, RV11, RV34, Y21, YR23, YG63, YG67

that's how i roll

when i was a wee lass i used to play 'office'...when i was at my grandparent's house, i would sit at my grandfather's desk and go through invoices, receipt books, tally things on his really big calculator...when i was home, i would sit with a phone book and my Buddy L "easy-writer" typewriter and actually type out the pages...for fun...i would lick my finger and flip through the pages like i was looking for something important, find it, and type it up...then i would pull the sheet out of the typewrite really fast (cause that's how you are supposed to do it when you are a very important secretary and have things to do)...fold it up and place it in an envelope to be addressed to someone else really important...

i love to file...i love post-its...i love spending time in office supply stores...

know what else? i passed the gene on to we both get giddy when we pull up to staples, office max, office depot....giddy i tell ya...

014 - Copy (2)

in case you needed a visual...there is the bad lives on a shelf above my desk with other well loved vintage toys...

the roller skates are in a metal box on a shelf in my living room...white, of course...

roller skating was my first love...then playing new book reminds me of both...

meet my new class design book...seriously cute...that's how i was love at  first sight the day this paper line was received from sassafras!!!  i just love that roller skating monster!!!

when i design a class, i jot down all the details (then i add pictures) paper and ribbon many of this and that, etc...that way, when i make my kits, i just have to highlight what i have prepped and then make the kits...i stay really organized and this book helps with all year, new book...

the picture above this one is inside the front cover and this lil' monster is inside the back cover...

and, bringing up the rear...these lil' bats kill me!!!

by the end of the year this book will be stuffed with pictures, designs, and probably coffee stains! it will be fun to look back and see what i was teaching and how my style has evolved over the year...a kinda scrapbook!

sassafras 'monstrosity' collection (paper, stickers, etc.)

distress inks: spiced marmalade, broken china, shabby shutters, scattered straw (have you seen the new colors???? pumice stone and spun sugar are my favorites so far!!!! go look at them here!!!)

tickets, crepe paper, velvet ric-rac, tiny attacher, SU! punches, quickutz die, copic R29 for writing

thanks for stopping in, i hope you enjoyed the glimpse into just what a dork i am!

bestest students

as joyous as designing and teaching is for is so much more incredible to have the privilege to do what you love when your students are as fabulous as mine!!!

we made four valentine's cards in class last night...all with adorable vintage images...and sweet little touches...

you already know my love of seam binding...and velvet ribbons...and music sheets...dictionary pages...

and, of course, flash cards...buttons, and mini pompom fringe...

but who would have known that i would fall head over heals in love with bo bunny's 'love bandit  ' collection??? adorable!!! i did use these particular papers in such a way that they go great with the vintage touches...but not to worry...i did ALSO buy the stinkin' cute other papers and stickers!!! i will be sharing some super cute valentines that i will be giving chicka, the hubster, and sending out to some friends...amazing how you can take the same paper and use it for so many different that!

here is a sneak peek at next month's card class at the love cards...march 11, 7 to 9...

happy creating!
