You Are the Best Card and Mini Distress Winner

hi folks! i am humbled and grateful for all of your sweet, encouraging comments...truly, thank you!!!!

i came home from work and took a little while to unwind and make this simple card...the ice cream cone is from a blueprint stamp set; i watercolored it with distress markers and a water brush...

the back ground was a fun experiment...i inked some gray card stock with perfect medium through a distress stencil, added sticky embossing powder, heat embossed it and added pumice stone distress glitter...a little inking with pumice stone distress ink and a mini ink blending tool added a great dimension...i think i will be trying this on other projects!

to make the banner i used a distress ink black soot marker and inked just the words i was looking for on the hash tag set and stamped them all willy nilly for a casual sentiment...

thank you for stopping in and i hope you enjoyed today's was wonderful to get some inky time in!!!

now...on to the winner:

Oh, Wow! This is gorgeous! I would have never thought I would have to have that bell stamp, but now I don't know how I will survive without it! I love the minis, too, and treat them like a watercolor palette--my go-to watercolors. I would love to win the new sets! Thanks for the opportunity!

Mini Distress Ink Love

hi folks! it's an exciting day! Ranger is releasing the final 3 sets of Mini Distress Inks!! sets 10, 11 & 12...make the collection complete!!

look how cute they look in the Mini Distress Ink Storage Tins...

i knew i would LOVE the minis..let's be honest...because they are CUTE...AND MINI!!!! who doesnt love that???

but, here's the that i have been using them for a while now, i love them for so much more!!! yes, they are cute, and mini...and convenient, and easily portable, and great for some cool techniques that are just easier because of their size...what went from love at first sight, went to truly, madly, lasting love...

now that i put that out there...let's do some creating! stick with me till the end...there's a GIVEAWAY to be had!!!

today's project is this noel card using blueprint stamps...didn't see that coming, did ya?!

we are going to ink our blueprint evergreen stamps with all the green minis in the new sets and stamp onto watercolor paper for our background

i love that the minis make it possible to ink my stamp without masking off the areas on the stamp that i don't want to ink...and i am able to ink a few colors on the stamp at a time for the varigated pine...

after stamping varigated pine all around the edge of your watercolor paper (5 1/4 X 4) using the blueprint and mini blueprint stamp, spritz the background lightly with water and dry with heat tool

spritz the background with gathered twigs distress marker and spritz tool

ink edges with mini tea dye and mini ink blending tool, set aside

stamp jingle bells from blueprint sets onto watercolor paper using jet black archival ink

paint bells with brushed pewter distress stain mixed with a little water, dry with heat tool or allow to air dry then using black soot & pumice stone distress marker and a water brush, add shading

ink edges with tea dye

add memo pins using multi medium (i use scraps of tissue tape to keep the pins flat on the back)

use pine needles mini to ink edges of backing watercolor paper 5 1/2 X 8 1/2 folded in half (this piece can be 5 1/2 X 4 1/4 adhered to a card to save the amount of watercolor paper you use if you like)...i love the control you have with the minis on this!

spritz with water, do not blot but dry quickly with the heat tool to keep color dark

adhere pine background to card base with foam tape

stamp holly on watercolor paper using jet black archival ink, color using ditress markers and water brush

cut out and ink edges with tea dye ink with mini blending tool

dye ribbon by pressing festive berries mini onto craft sheet, spritz with water, and swipe ribbon through ink...use heat tool to dry

tie ribbon onto bells through the memo pins, add foam to the back of all images

stamp noel in jet black archival ink in upper right corner and layer images using foam and glossy accents made it to the end! now, for the giveaway...

leave a comment on this post for your chance to win sets 10, 11, & 12 mini distress inks...i'll choose a winner next friday, august 22!
