Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous Halloween 2018 Release

howdy folks!

today i am sharing a card i made for the Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous 2018 Release facebook live event...go check it out here to see all the stamps and stencils along with some amazing samples!

one of my favorite sets is Nature's Wonders CMS343...i love the grungy leaves as much as i love the quotes!

i colored the leaves with distress markers...of course. and watercolored the background a bit along with some shading with pumice stone.

i love the detail in the leaves...the grungy spots add detail and texture...i played off of them in my watercoloring.  the images are stamped on distress watercolor paper with archival black ink. using the stamp platform means i can stamp a few times on the textured paper and get a clean image...

you can also see here my 'technique' (i use that term loosely!) for the shading/shadows...the key for me is to not take it seriously and not follow any rules...just do what looks good to my eye and go with it!

the quote was added onto a scrap of black card stock; i used pinking shears to just add a little detail to one side...the edges of the card base and quote are inked with an ink blending tool and vintage photo distress ink. a little 'not too serious' wonky black stitching and the card was just layered on some distress cardstock.

thank you for stoping in, i love how this card came out...i can't wait to play some more with this stamp set. i will be sharing more samples in October and November from this release!
